The International Forum for Child Welfare was founded in 1989. As an NGO (Non-Government Organisation), they are an independent group that promotes the beliefs of the members. The mission of the IFCW is:

  • To improve the quality of life for children and young people globally
  • To help them reach their full potential

The WorldForum is an annual event co-hosted by the IFCW and one of it's members. This year the event will be co-hosted by Children in Wales in Cardiff, Wales. The theme of the WorldForum 2008 is ‘Early Intervention and Prevention’.

The format of the conference will include keynote speakers, presentations (oral, poster or paper), panel sessions and site visits. Children and young people are encouraged to take an active role in presentations and the conference as a whole.
